Event card « Don’t shoot !! »

This event may be surprising but it really occurred. After D-Day, allied Spitfires were after the enemies trying to reach the Normandy Landing beaches. Some commandos having been air-dropped behind enemy lines the day before, some of them happened to be targeted by mistake. So, they got the brilliant idea to display a British flag on the ground to show which camp they belonged to. Message well received: the aircraft went after new targets!
